Axisymmetric response of a fluid-filled sphericaal shell in free vibrations.

چکیده
This paper is concerned with a theoretical model of the head. Neuroanatomical and analytical considerations lead to a fluid-filled spherical shell as a first-generation model. The shell is considered thin, elastic, homogeneous, and isotropic. The shell equations includeboth membrane and bending effects in axisymmetric torsionless motion. The motion of the fluid is governed by the wave equation. A free vibration analysis of the fluid-shell system is obtained in the form of a frequency equation. Compared with a fluid-filled rigid shell and an elastic shell in uacuo, the frequency spectrum of the fluid-shell system is almost a ‘superposition’ of the spectra of the two special cases. The exceptions appear as slight distortions in the neighborhood of the ‘curve’ intersections.

The axisymmetric response of a fluid-filled spherical shell to a local radial impulse--a model for head injury.
This investigation is concerned with determination of the dynamic response of a fluid-filled spherical shell subjected to a local radial impulsive load. From the application point of view, such a fluid-shell system is considered to be a simple, but to date, the most improved theoretical model representing the human head when subjected to impulsive external loads. Analysis is based on linear she...

In this study, free vibration of a foam-core orthotropic smart composite cylindrical shell (SCCS) filled with a non-viscous compressible fluid, subjected to combined electro-thermo-mechanical loads is investigated. Piezoelectric polymeric cylindrical shell, is made from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and reinforced by armchair double walled boron nitride nanotubes (DWBNNTs). Characteristics of...
متن کاملAxisymmetric Vibrations in Micropolar Thermoelastic Cubic Crystal Plate Bordered with Layers or Half Spaces of Inviscid liquid
In present study is concerned with the propagation of axisymmetric vibrations in a homogenous isotropic micropolar thermoelastic cubic crystal plate bordered with layers or half spaces of inviscid liquid subjected to stress free boundary conditions in context of Lord and Shulman (L-S) and Green and Lindsay (G-L) theories of thermoelasticity. The secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetri...
متن کاملCoupled Vibration of Partially Fluid-Filled Laminated Composite Cylindrical Shells
In this study, the free vibration of partially fluid-filled laminated composite circular cylindrical shell with arbitrary boundary conditions has been investigated by using Rayleigh-Ritz method. The analysis has been carried out with strain-displacement relations based on Love’s thin shell theory and the contained fluid is assumed irrotational, incompressible and inviscid. After determining the...
متن کاملStudy of Torsional Vibrations of Composite Poroelastic Spherical Shell-Biot’s Extension Theory
Torsional vibrations of composite poroelastic dissipative spherical shell are investigated in the framework of Biot’s extension theory. Here composite poroelastic spherical shell consists of two spherical shells, one is placed on other, and both are made of different poroelastic materials. Consideration of the stress-free boundaries of outer surface and the perfect bonding between two shells lea...
